Description This paper deals with the case law of the European Court of Human Rights in relation to the criminal law of the Czech Republic and the influence for the Czech criminal law. Firstly, there is explained the position of the European Court of Human Rights and the importance of its decision for the states, which are bound by the Convention. The author then focuses on selected case law that applies in particular to Article 6 of the Convention. The right to a fair trial is a major in criminal proceedings, with the subsequent reference to the Czech legislation).
