| Description | The key workplace of the Institute of Natural Sciences (INS)is the Department of Geography. Among the major projects currently addressed to serious topics are: the compillation of university textbooks and Geographic atlas of the Northeast of the Russian Federation, the tundra ecosystem monitoring, a comprehensive regional research of the Olenjok River Basin, smaller projects focuse on is the creation of regional geography textbooks for education in basic schools of administrative units of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Another important geographic workplace at the North-Eastern Federal University in Yakutsk is the trans-university Department Arctic Sciences. Another department of the University, where geography is applied, it is the Department of biology, chemistry and geography teaching methodology. The last geographic workplace at the NEFU is the Laboratory of Ecology and permafrost soils geography. |
