Description Lyme disease is a multisystem bacterial disease caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato ( Bbsl ). The main physiological features of this spirochete, the rich antigenic feature, which allows it to adapt to a wide range of hosts. One of the major antigens of the OspC lipoprotein . OspC expression is induced in the first phase tick feeding is required after transmission of spirochete to obratlovčího host. It is thus one of the first antigen to which the immune system reacts actively produces protective antibodies . The resulting antibodies , however, are fully capable of binding a specific phylogenetic type OspC , which caused their formation . The aim of our study was to design , prepare and purify recombinant OspC form relevant to the Czech Republic and prepare a set of mouse monoclonal antibodies ( mAb) capable of binding the native antigen of one or more strains Bbsl and might be the basis for immunological tests with high specificity for our country.
