Description Aeromonad are ubiqitous bacteria mainly found in water sources. Some representatives of these bacteria are isolated from clinical samples and therefore considered to be opportunistic pathogens. The aim of this work was to isolate and desribe aeromonads from water sources as well as from clinical samples. Initial phenotyping led to identification of 40 % out of all isolates. Identification rate increased up to 89 % after using multiplex PCR approach. Identification rate among clinical samples was twice as high as among environmental isolates. Method ERIC-PCR was showed as inconvinient for identification of this bacteria. However, there is high potential of this method to become an important epidemiological tool.
