Description The contents of this publication are the contributions from the expert seminar "The ethnographic fieldwork", organized by the Museum of the Highlands Třebíč on 22 to 24 May 2013 at its branch in the Museum of Crafts in Moravian Budejovice - castle stables. The seminar was conducted in the context of wider cooperation museums Czech and Austrian border region, the South Bohemia, South Moravia and Lower Austria. The main objective of this event was to compare the concepts, theoretical background and practical procedures for the implementation of field research documenting traditional folk culture in the Czech Republic and Austria. Great attention was paid to the documentation of material culture, but also intangible heritage, as well as the history of research in each of museum institutions. Some posts then acquainted with the results of current projects carried out in the affected regions. The scientific program of the first seminar included a total of four contributions in the field of spiritual culture, complemented by screenings of two films. During the second day of the seminar was noted in two blocks of seven posts and three movies. They were devoted to the documentation of material culture - folk architecture, creating exhibitions, crafts and presentation, or other findings from field research undertaken in the context of museum work. One of these films was a short documentary film "Francis" on sběratelce folk songs Frantiska Kyselková (1865-1951), which then in June to Musaionfilmu in Brod won the Grand Jury Prize at the Black Janka and the Audience Award. The final day of the seminar was one of the professional tour in Lower Austria. The workshop participants visited the Lower Austrian largest museum in Niedersulz where they gave ethnographer Dr. Veronika Plöckinger-Walenta. The tour of the museum complex was also an exhibition of earthen construction. In the excursion was a visit Muzeumszentra Mistelbach and exhibition of cakes and desserts called "Süße Lust - Geschichte (n) der Mehlspeise".
