| Description | The contribution deals with functional equations which characterize known elementary functions. We demonstrate that some basic algebraic properties of these functions are sufficient conditions for their implementation. These properties are stated in the form of functional equations whose continuous solutions are exactly functions under consideration. In this way we present the linear, exponential, logarithmic, power and trigonometric functions. |
