| Description | The writer Herta Müller comes from Romania, where together with her family she belonged to the German minority. In her work she describes mainly her memories of dictatorship under the leadership of Nicolae Ceauşescu. The importance and focus of Herta Müllers work is the dread of the secret service and constant fear for her life. The core of this thesis is her novel Herztier (in English published as The Land of Green Plums), that is closely related to the former regime. |
