Description The goal of this paper, heavily based on NISPAcee research projects1, is to identify shared and varied public administration reform trajectories and briefly assess the outcomes of public administration reforms in the CEE region. It discusses whether New Public Management is the best solution for the CEE region today, and uses the example of health care developments to emphasize that the market cannot be used as a single core tool to improve public service delivery. The final part of the paper provides indications of the general requirements and conditions that will allow national public administrations to overcome the challenges of the post-2015 period and meaningfully contribute to the process of achieving objectives of sustainable development.
