Description The paper is focused on the process of selection of judges in the Czech Republic in light of organisational and procedural aspects. It deals with an influence of executive power. The author analyses the Czech legal order. He deals with the role of the Czech President in the appointment of judges at the legislative level and also from the point of view of president’s real influence (see the case "Langer"). Author also presents findings in area of national practice whereas he researches into the influence of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Justice and chairpersons of the courts. Attention is also paid to discussions about the creation of the Supreme Judicial Council. The paper also disserts on the judges’ requirements in the Czech Republic, analyses in detail process of selection de lege lata and de lege ferenda.
