Description A single scheme is not an innovation in the Czech legal environment. The EU Succession Regulation is based on the single scheme. Advantages and disadvantages it brings are evaluat-ed in the introductory part of the contribution. The single scheme in the EU Succession Reg-ulation is based on the connecting factor of the habitual residence. Given that it is a factual standard, which is not defined in the Regulation, the concept shall be subjected to critical examination. The connecting factor of the habitual residence is subject to findings of facts. Impacts of the connecting factor application on legal certainty and predictability of legal relations are evaluated in the conclusion of the contribution.
