Description Chemical injury itself represents a far rarer injury compared to the classical burn. Among chemical injuries the cases of the burn caused by sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide during waste pipe cleaning at home are seen most often. The cases of acid burns are rather seen in a professional exposition. An injury caused by the phosphorus is very rare and if it occurs, it affects mainly war victims. In the Czech Republic, there has been only one case reported until now. We present a case of a critical burn in a young woman that occurred during her practice of profession. Her condition was further complicated by the inhalation injury of the most severe grade.
