Description The use of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) evokes even after more than 30 years of usage various reactions and debates. Followers of this method argue with speed-up healing, lower post-op pain, lower analgesics usage and better results. Opponents point out arguable improvement of the operation outcomes, higher cost of the procedure and risks connected with preparation and application of PRP. There are many debates and uncertainties about the nomenclature, too. This review article divides and compares the classifications systems for blood derivates used in dentistry.
