| Description | A case report of the 17-year-old girl with a sudden onset of the blindness of the right eye. The occlusion of the central retinal artery and vein was described by the ophthalmologist. Leiden mutation of the factor V was demonstrated by the genetical test. No other thrombophilia markers were demonstrated. MRI and MRA has been without intracranial lesions. After finding the patent foramen ovale, the patient was indicated for implantation of Amplatz occluder. Patent foramen ovale can not be excluded as a possible cause of the occlusion of the central retinal artery and vein. |
