Description This contribution presents a fragment of qualitative research in the field of pre-vocational training and professional orientation in students with special educational needs in the Swedish education system with an emphasis on the current teacher's role description. Qualitative data obtained in the framework of international internship through structured interviews with 17 individuals were analysed using open, axial and selective coding. Through these four categories related to the description of the role of teachers, the role of special educators, teacher assistants and also to the current challenges in the Swedish education system in relation to the teaching staff were defined.
