Description Currently, nursing is establishing itself as a discipline implementing evidence-based practice. One of the hallmarks of the discipline is the use of standardized terminology. One of the appropriate terminology for community practice is the Omaha System. It is an optimal tool for the preparation and use of nursing documentation including assessment of client groups and communities, identifying problems and risks, implementation and evaluation of nursing process in community practice. This article aims to provide information about standardized terminology in community practice. It focuses on the development, characteristic and components of the Omaha System.
