| Description | The paper concerns investigation of the sources of Comenius's map of Moravia, with a special focus on those related to Pavel Fabricius. On the basis of cartographic analyses, it is possible to observe striking similarities in investigated maps, which are also confirmed by content and terminological analyses. The latter analyses make it possible to specify and relatively accurately define the basic construction lines, on which the drawings of two author maps are based. The set out tracks relatively accurately replicate the course of historic trails in Moravia. The obtained results indicate a strong linkage between the travel abilities of Jan Amos Comenius and Paulus Fabricius and their ways of constructing maps, which were based on their own terrain measurements, and possibly on data available in travel itineraries. |
