| Description | The book narrates the history of urban sociology and proposes new reading and interpretation of classical works of the 19th and 20th century, as well as a general overview of the key urban theories. It also maps several contemporary debates that are taking place within the field of urban studies and shaping the urban scholars' approach to studying cities. Next to explaining the evolution of this discipline in international context, the book focuses on history of urban studies in the Czech context. It analysis the interconnections between Czech urban sociology with international urban theory and research in the past and today. |
