Description The lecture focused on the reflection of the Civil War in American literature in the accounts of participants: soldiers, politicians and orators. Issues and topics explored in details included imagery, individualism, religion, and democracy in selected texts. The importance of the topic of the Great War for 20th century American writers was shortly discussed as well.
