Description In this time people very often need to read in ordinary life. However, some people can have a huge problem with reading, because they suffer from specific learning disorder - dyslexia. Dyslexia is a complex disorder of reading. It can be manifested by amount of symptoms, mainly by jumping of letters and whole words in the line or various reflections. Among the possibilities of optical correction of dyslexia we can rank the colour overlays which are put in front of reading text. Other possibilities are the colour filter in the frames or the colour contact lenses. When we put one of this type of filter in front of the eye we change a contrast of the background and a beam path coming into the eye. I would like to deal with the topic of application and using colour overlays in my thesis called The use of colour overlays to compensate of specific learning disorders (Faculty of Medicine of the Masaryk University Brno, department of Optometry and Orthoptics, supervisor: Mgr. Petr Veselý, DiS. PhD.) I use colour overlays to work with children who suffer from dyslexia. However, I am working also with children without dyslexia for comparison both groups. Presentation includes the description of measurement and actual results.
