Citation
Description The novel Pekelný ráj (1930) written by Čestmír Jeřábek is a part and parcel of the literary discussion established in those times by Egon Erwin Kisch (in 1929) who was confident that the novel (at least the psychological novel) is gets over and that the reportage is the genre of the future. Jeřábek is originally an avant-garde writer and he believes that the novel has some magic power to change the reality, in addition, the fantasy of poet is changing the reality. Jeřábek´s novel Pekelný ráj comprises two essays from his inheritance - Život a román and O tvorbě románové – and he develops theirs subjects: e.g. what is the role of an artistic creation; what is the role of novel writers; the psychological mode in the novel as a necessary digression in an accelerated world. He is concerned with both a writer´s reflection in another characters in the novel and inner poet´s motor of feelings in which the novel subject is born.
