| Description | How do Human Rights and gender equality interconnect? How do interlinks between them operate especially when they mutually contest? What explains the vicissitudes of current situation with gender equality in Belarus, the previous Soviet experience or contemporary issues? What role do women play in providing their own rights, and who “writes” the scripts of their political participation in Belarus? The students will search the answer to these and other questions by exploring routine practices regarding education, health care, labour, family life. The main task of the course is to introduce the students to the range of existing approaches in welfare practices in terms of the threats of arbitrariness towards women and prevention of discrimination. |
