Description Carex secalina is rare species within Central Europe. It prefers humid salty meadows and secondary habitats, such as abandoned fields and field inundations. For documentation, we used herbarium specimens, literature data and our field study. In Czech Republic, 168 sitex were documented, 42 localities were confirmed. In Slovakia, only 19 localities were historically recorded, but only 4 recently exists. Therefore, the C. secalina status in the Slovakia is considered as CR (critically endangered).
