Description Results of anthropological research of juvenile part of population from Early Medieval site Znojmo Hradiště show the highest mortality in age category infans II. This is typical composition of infantile part of historical populations. But how will the mortality change when sex will be determined? In 37 juvenile individuals coming from site Znojmo Hradiště, sex was determined by methods of molecular biology. Results show that examined sample consists from 14 boys and 23 girls. In this case are mortality curves of both sexes not similar. Boys died prevalently in age category infans II and juvenis. Contrary girls died most often in age category infans III. Similar situation is possible to see in populations coming from burial sites Pohansko South-outer Precinct (Early Medieval) and Hoštice I (Bell Beaker Culture) Aim of the project of sexing skeletal remains of children from Znojmo Hradiště is not only to distinguish different mortality curves in both sexes. Main aim is to draw attention on fact that possibility of relative easy sexing of children skeletal remains (by molecular methods) will bring new possibilities in study of children skeletal remains.
