Description A study is focused on the composition of mine and surface water in Rosicko-Oslavany coal basin. Mining of coal, which took place from 1760 to 1992, had a significant impact on the environment. Contaminated mine and surface water are the main and long-term problems which appear after the end of mining and flooding the pits. The end of mining is associated with the change of water chemistry and composition. Concentrations of certain substances, particularly of iron and manganese, are increasing. The aim of the study was evaluate the water using Geochemist´s Workbench and to compare different types of water.
