Description This certified methodology sets the framework for evaluation of causal effects of climatic campaigns aiming at the change of individual mitigation and adaptation behavior and its factors (attitudes, knowledge and beliefs). This methodology is based on well-established approaches of causal inference (Rubin, 1974) and uses quantitative experimental and quasi-experimental approaches. By allowing quantification and strengthening of causal effects of campaigns, it also helps to improve their economic efficiency. The methodology is divided into five thematic chapters covering the following topics: (i) selection of impact indicators; (ii) approaches to causal inference; (iii) effect size measurement and interpretation; (iv) selection of evaluation study type; (v) selection of evaluators. Novelty: Similar methodology focusing on evaluation of causal effects of climatic campaigns (and even of campaigns in general), grounded in well-established approaches of causal inference, has not been prepared in CR.
