Citation
Description This case study focuses on research dealing with the level and extent of the vocabulary of bilingual children in the preschool age and their ability to understand verbal communication in their particular language. These studies were published by foreign researchers interested in the topic of bilingualism. The research included in this case study took place in the period from 2001 to 2015 with the use of a standardized language test. The final results of bilingual children were compared with those of monolingual children. Only slight differences were found between the vocabulary of bilingual and monolingual children and their ability to react verbally. To sum up, the case study points out various opinions of experts on the topic of bilingualism; these experts also encourage other researchers to deal with this topic.
