| Description | There are many ticks in southern Moravia and there are more cases of encephalitis. Those who have gardens and go to nature are overwhelmed by ticks. Under the leadership of A. Žákovská, 3 localities are monitored in Brno and its surroundings for the number of ticks and their activity. The occurrence of ticks this year (2020) appeared at the end of February, their number gradually increased, until at the end of April their activity decreased due to drought. Now, in June, due to moisture, ticks have reactivated to high numbers. |
