| Description | The current time brings to social work a significant change in conditions and with it the difficult situations that social workers have to deal with. Key issues identified in the international context in relation to the impact of the Covid - 19 pandemic (see, for example, Banks et al, 2020) include responsibilities for supporting social workers and their self - care, as well as the difficulty of building a relationship between workers and workers. the recipient of the assistance in the online environment. The ethical framework of the profession expressed in ethical documents could provide social workers with orientation and support not only in these difficult times. However, research shows that social workers do not appreciate the importance of the code of ethics (Nečasová, Dohnalová, Trbola, 2020). The aim of the article is to answer the question of what support the current version of basic ethical documents offers to social workers. To answer the question, the above topics will be discussed first, followed by the ethical framework of the profession and the importance of professional codes of ethics, in which the basic values and principles of the profession are expressed. Subsequently, we will focus on those points of selected codes of ethics that are relevant to the above topics. In the end, we will outline recommendations for editing documents in connection with new challenges. |
