| Description | Aerial photographs of fields in the river Svitava floodplain indicate fundaments of an unfinished small aristocratic seat with a farmstead, close to the village Spešov, district of Blansko. These were confirmed by small-scale archaeological test pits. Having excavated no historically datable material, based on uncertain historical mentions and analogies, evolution of the Svitava River floodplain, its building-up period is supposed to be in the second half of the 15th century. Relations to the floods and to the depth of ground water table is also taken in consideration. West Moravia, Czechia. |
