Citation
Description Bohuslav Woody Vasulka (1937-2019) is internationally recognised as a pioneer of video art and electronic and interactive art. His work was part of the Vasulka Chamber at The National Gallery of Iceland in Reykjavik from 2014 to 2018-2019. During my time at the Vasulka Chamber in 2017-2018, a vast collection of personal photographs and documents was processed, which mapped the development of Steina and Woody Vasulka’s work. This included digitising their personal and administrative-artistic correspondence. The archive collection, transferred from Santa Fe to Iceland between 2014 and 2017, also contained Czech literary texts by Woody Vasulka from the mid-1950s. Among these were a collection of typed stories and poems I named the "Konsul collection“ (written with „K“) and a slim notebook containing poems, drawings, glosses, and also parts of the transcribed poem "A Cloud in Trousers“ by Vladimir Mayakovsky. The article refers in detail this Czech notebook and the Konsul collection, which were not available in physical or digital form during the preparation of the book "Bohuslav Woody Vasulka. Celeben: Poems and Proses from Youth". It is possible that the original manuscripts of Vasulka's Konsul collection are stored in the yet unprocessed part of the archive of Czech origin, now managed by the Vasulka Foundation.
