Description In 2019, Hydnellum gracilipes, a species new to the Czech funga, was discovered in southern Bohemia. We present a description of the fruitbody found, the circumstances of the find and comments on the distribution and ecology of the species. It is a globally rare and endangered species, distinguished by very small spores and a soft consistency of its fruitbodies, which can even be completely resupinate on litter, vegetation or the underside of lying logs. The identity of the collection was confirmed molecularly. According to published data, our collection is only the third one in the region of Central Europe. A Czech name is proposed for the species.
