| Description | Publication offers a comprehensive insight into transport behavior and mobility needs from the gender equality perspective. It addresses key areas such as general mobility patterns of daily travel, traffic safety, perceived personal safety, availability and use of different transport modes, sustainability, new transport technologies and women’s representation in the transport sector. Drawing on a substantial body of literature from the Euro-American context over the last twenty years, it provides an extensive overview of the state of the art, complemented by original data from a survey carried out by the Transport Research Centre, which has specifically focused on the gender gap in transport. A comparison of foreign research with data from the Czech environment demonstrates the universality of trends in unequal opportunities in transport. These evidence-based inequalities should be taken into account and a gender-inclusive perspective integrated into transport plans, projects and policies. |
