Description Solid phase extraction of phenol and 15 chlorophenols from river water has been optimized and HPLC of the analytes on narrow-bore column has been investigated. The recoveries from 90% to 98% with exception of phenol (29%), pentachlorophenol (79%), and 2-chlorophenol (86%) were attained. Limits of detection ranged from 1.1 to 3.6 ug/L (5.2 for 2-chlorophenol and 14.6 for phenol) for the sample volume of 100 ml.
