Description Odontogenic myxomas of the mandible are rare benign mesenchymic tumors. It is difficult to remove them completely without having resected the afflicted part of bone. That is why these tumors recur frequently. Although these tumors do not metastasize but they change their skiascopic arrangement from demarcated types of tumors to destructive tumors which are arranged in either sliced or honeycombed form. Numerous originally diagnosed central bone fibromas are classified as fibromyxomas after a careful histological analysis has been performed. Though myxomas are mentioned in literature as tumors that occur less frequently in childhood, the authors describe two cases of this age. Both myxomas occurred in connection with retention of some tooth in the mandible. Conservative-surgical treatment was performed, the aim of which was to assure the completion of development of the mandible and its full functioning, as well.
