Description The article deals with the reconstruction of a preaching event which gave rise to a yet unpublished sermon collection entitled Sermones de principalibus festis by Petr Žitavský (Petrus Zittaviensis), a renowned chronicler and abbot of the Cistercian cloister in Zbraslav, Bohemia (d. 1339). Main attention is paid to the place of origin and the language of the sermons as well as to their audience and the personality of the preacher.
