Description The experience of cancer disease represents radical confrontation with the human finiteness. The goal of the research was to understand the experience of women who passed the breast cancer. For this purpose seven women with breast cancer diagnosis who were taking part in the Mamma-Help program were investigated. We used narrative interviews to obtain a spontaneous articulation of this critical point in the women’s life. The study gives information concerning tzhe resultinh phase of interpretation of interview that is oriented to the complex experience of individual women. The attention is given to the way in which the experience of breast cancer disease is shaped by means of figures, plots or genres of life story. The experience articulated in the narrative interviews indicates that the confronation with the finitude of human life is the key moment that the way of narrative configuration is unwinded. The diseas threatening the life is shocking experience forcing humans to redefine „being in the world“. Narrative configurations are the result of the „biographical work“ through what certain form of control and prediction of the events run is restored again.
