Description The evaluation of the heart rate variability (HRV) from short-time record in children is difficult for a lack of reference values. Therefore the R-R intervals of 38 healthy children (14 boys and 24 girls), at the age of 7 to 9 years, was measured in a rest lying and standing position, using the system VariaPulse TF-3. Next time domain and spectral analysis of HRV was performed. There was calculated the basal statistical characteristics of variability parameters. The results, and mainly the figures, could be the basal values at clinical practise where the same measurement method is used.
