Description In the prospective longitudinal study ELSPAC the pediatric observation of the chohort of 6100 seven-year-old children described 4,4% of them as having conduct disorders. The predominant markers such as strong negativism, aggressiveness, attention deficit, non-adequate reactions, hyperactivity, disorders of psychomotor development, school maturation delay, poorer school results and social adaptation characterized the children's behavioral problems. The characteristics of standardized criteria of possible conduct disorders should be included in the routine pediatric practice. The possible causal associations between prenatal exposure to nicotine and conduct disorders in childhood are another strong reason for the primary prevention and smoking cessation in antenatal clinics.
