Description The authors deal with the mens olympis development of performances 800m and 1500m run. Olympic performances of selected groups of runners (800 and 1500 meters races) are compared with world records and vice versa . The authors came to the conclusion that there si evidential relationship between the development of world and Olympic records in the period 1896-2004. Furthermore, the authors describe the differences between the parties finals runs OH (in the historical period of the Games division into 3 periods: 1896 to 1928, 1932 to 1976, 1980 to 2004)), tend to greater homogeneity (differences in achievements between 1. to 3., 1. to 6., and 1. to 8. racer over time significantly diminished). Recent findings described in the text answers the question on which continent it is realistic to look for the most finalists in the 800m and 1500m race in each Olympic cycle.
