Description After 1990, the air transport passes through a dynamic development in the region of Central Europe (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and the former German Democratic Republic). Geografical impacts of the air transport deregulation are modified by the local political, economic and social context in the Central European space. If we confront the above-mentioned information with general spatial impacts of the air transport deregulation, we can expect especially the following changes in the geographical arrangement of the air transport in the territory of the Central Europe: the growth of the importance of local hub airports; specific development of connectivity inside the Central European space; the increase of the number of destinations served by air transport is very likely too. Apart from the common characteristic of changes in the air transport in this part of Central Europe, the goal of the paper is mainly the verification of the above-mentioned hypotheses.
