• Description: Contribution in its first part summarizes the current state of scientific research project SP/2f1/57/08: Improving the use of mixed (residual) of municipal waste with a view to reducing the amount of biodegradable municipal waste going to landfill and create capacity for processing of biodegradable waste, including waste kitchen and canteen, departmental research, Ministry of Environment. Further contribution of approximately describes the real production of biodegradable waste in the South Moravian Region and the practice of handling such waste in the municipalities. It also delineates the possibility of disposing of such waste (facility) in South Moravia. Conclusion sums up the production and management with a view to meeting landfill directive of the European Union.
