Description The post-industrial landscape represents a common phenomenon of developed industrial countries. Its dominant definition feature is given by the presence of “fossil” (inactive, off its original destination) industrial and related areas and objects. The identification of relevant “post-industrial” objects and areas on the territory of Czech Republic and two minor representative study areas Rosicko-Oslavansko (once heavy industry, Southern Moravian Region) and Kamenicko (once glass, textile and wood industry, Liberec Region) was completed in the course of the works proposed by the project “The fate of the Czech post-industrial landscape”. The process of the identification and typology of the post-industrial landscape using knowledge on the secondary and tertiary landscape structure and GIS technology is demonstrated on example of the Rosicko-Oslavansko area. The procedure developed was used to classification of areas with the different level of the “post-industrialness” in the present landscape. The preliminary results represent starting points for the future planning in the given territory.
