Description The article presents and comments on results of a survey carried among women of reproductive age. Women were questioned anonymously. Respondents consisted of pregnant women and women who had not been pregnant before. The goal of the survey was to find out whether women are informed about harmful effects of smoking on human and fetal health. Furthermore, women were questioned if they are smokers and in case they are, whether they would be willing to quit their smoking during their pregnancy Pregnant women were also questioned about quitting their smoking while finding they got pregnant. Additional items of the questionnaire detected the impact of acquired education on a womans rational consideration of bad effects of smoking and on their decision to quit smoking during pregnancy. The questionnaires also questioned about the influence of a presence of a smoker in a womans home (partners, parents, brothers and sisters) on her decision to or not to smoke.
