| Description | Phytosociological relevé is one of the field sampling methods frequently used in botany. Information on plants obtained using relevé recording, serve not only for pure scientific research, but are also valuable from the nature conservation standpoint. Over a hundred thousand of them have been recorded in the Czech Republic, the majority of which is stored in the Czech National Phytosociological Database. The aim of this paper is to explain how a relevé is recorded in the field, to demonstrate several examples of practical utilization and finally to promote the existence of the largest source of relevés available on request. |
