MU modifies white light setting, respirators won’t be compulsory

MU prepares for the return of final-year students to practical classes
Masaryk University is actively preparing to enable final-year students to attend practical classes in schools, which should be possible in the weeks following Easter, according to the latest information. Resumption of face-to-face teaching will concern currently active students of Bachelor’s programmes from the 5th semester onwards, follow-up Master’s programmes from the 3rd semester onward, and traditional Master’s programmes from the 9th semester onward.
Following Easter, the Czech Government will decide on further steps and the exact conditions for face-to-face classes. Based on the Government’s opinion and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education, the MU management will then discuss the situation with deans of the individual faculties. The deans will then decide which specific study programmes and fields will resume face-to-face teaching.
Should face-to-face classes be allowed, it is very likely that students will have to undergo mandatory testing for Covid-19. At this point, MU is engaging in intensive talks to ensure sufficient testing capacity and the university is also preparing to record the test results in its information systems. Students will be informed about where they can get tested, how and where to register the results via e-mail and on the university’s website.
At present, MU offers testing to its employees in three centres: at the MU Rector’s Office, the university campus (building B11), and in the complex at Vinařská street. The following people are exempt from mandatory testing: persons who have recovered from Covid-19 in the previous 90 days and people who have received full vaccination course with at least 14 days having passed since the 2nd dose.
