International university rankings are increasingly used as indicators in the development of educational policy. Individual ranking systems are based on a range of indicators which summarize the performance of universities in selected areas.

The Strategy Office is tasked with the coordination of data collection at Masaryk University and with reporting results to various administering institutions.

Masaryk University is actively involved in the following ranking systems:

• Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU)
• U-Multirank
• UI GreenMetric World University Rankings
