| Description | Littoral corer is an equipment which was constructed for quantitative sampling of macrozoobenthos in the littoral zone of stillwaters covered with macrophyte beds. However, it is utilisable for sampling of all types of muddy and sandy bottom substrates and can be used and easily manipualted also in other types of water environment down to the depth of maximum 0.5 m. Its application in the depths down to 1 m is already more labor demanding however still possible. The macrozoobenthos collected by this sampling procedure and washed on an appropriate sieve can be evaluyted both qualitatively and quantitatively. |
