| Description | This paper describes making of Historical atlas of selected countries of Europe and Africa based on Claudios Ptolemaios. Main goal of this project was to reconstruct part of world map known about AD 150 on a base of coordinates and geographical objects description. Vector database has been made from tables of coordinates. Symbology, which is evoking old map style, has been proposed and created, too. During dividing processed territory into individual map pages has been maintained Ptolemy’s division of Europe and Africa. In this paper are, except methods really used during processing, described alternative techniques. Relevance of treatment atlas from teaching history of cartography point of view is also mentioned. |
