Initial experience with silver nitrate are in the Middle Ages. Gradually there is a change of state from solid to liquid and silver nitrate began to be applied to defects in the form of 0.5 - 1% solution. Since the 70s of last century when it began to use silver sulfadiazine, this preparation is still the gold standard in the local treatment of superficial burns.
