Description Accessibilty mapping for people with impaired mobility deals with a lot of specific questions. The proces, which leads to the final production of an accessible map, should be based on theoretical knowledge of cartography and of issues of wheelchair users. First of all it is important to cover the special needs of particular people, neverthless the knowledge of their movements in the city and the possibilities for satisfaction of fullfilment their needs are necessary as well. Thus, it is inevitable to define methods of cartographic presentation of data on accessibility according to the needs of the target group of users. Proposed methods and map signs should include as much information about accessibility as possible and reflect the special needs of wheelcahir users for map reading and orientation in the city. The main goal is to suggest the map signs which can be universally used for accessibility maps and which correspond with the methodology of accessible mapping. The aim of this paper is to summarize the process of developing cartographic presentation of accessibility which is used at The atlas of Brno city for the people with impaired mobility.
